Participants on the Sustainable Methods of Construction Skills Bootcamp will examine how the construction industry impacts on the environment and affects the occupants, explore alternative construction methods that are fit for purpose, consider government policy implications and health and safety constraints associated with alternative construction methods, and design a fit-for-purpose structure using progressive construction methods.

Learning Outcomes:

• Examine how the construction industry impacts on the environment and how changes in the industry can create broader social and economic benefits
• Explore a number of healthy building and sustainability protocols e.g. passivhaus, BREEAM, WELL standard, Biophilic design and building Biology principles
• Explore sustainable construction methods that are fit for purpose in a given context
• Discuss the potential benefits and challenges associated with different forms of sustainable construction

This course is for professionals who want to upskill. You do need to have a base knowledge of the industry.

Top
