View detailsThis 10-week Coaching and Mentoring Skills Bootcamp, aligned to Level 3, is designed to equip healthcare professionals with essential coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills that are immediately applicable within their place of employment. Delivery will be contextualised using real-world challenges and lived experience from the healthcare sector, allowing participants to apply theory to practice immediately.
- Introduction to coaching and mentoring in a healthcare context, including key principles and ethical considerations
- Foundations of leadership, including styles and behaviours relevant to healthcare teams
- Use of coaching models and frameworks (e.g. GROW) to support staff development
- Development of key communication skills, such as active listening, effective questioning, and giving feedback
- Techniques for motivating and engaging teams within healthcare environments
- Goal setting and action planning to support individual and team performance
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a mentor in healthcare
- Strategies for managing challenges, including performance issues and difficult conversations
- Using coaching to support staff wellbeing and resilience

View detailsDates: Wednesday 27 January 2027 to Wednesday 24 March 2027 (9.30am start).
This 8-week Skills Bootcamp focuses on developing practical skills, underpinned with the core knowledge required to get started in the care industry. The programme will also include 12 hours of one-to-one mentor support for career development in the 20 weeks, following completion of the core delivery to ensure successful achievement of the course. These meetings can be either in person or face to face and are determined by the learner.
This Skills Bootcamp provides an intensive introduction to the core skills and knowledge required of a Healthcare Support Worker in England. This Level 3 course will help you to develop your occupational knowledge, skills and behaviours and support you to work toward your Care Certificate, that includes the 15 standards essential to providing high quality care. will also support you to gain employment by creating a CV, developing interview skills, building confidence and improving key functional literacy and numeracy skills for the sector. It’s designed to give participants a strong foundation for entry into the healthcare sector or to enhance the skills of those already working in support roles and access to the Adult Care apprenticeship. Each session is designed to be interactive, incorporating a mix of lectures, case studies, group discussions, practical demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
